iroclamation to establish military courts for the administration of criminal law during the period of Military Administration.

PART I
INTRODUCTORY
Short title and extent
Interpretation
Establishment of military oourts.
Constitution of the Superior Court.
1. This roclamation may be cited as the Military Courts (Singapore) Froclamation, and shall have effect in the Settlement of Singapore.
2* In this roclamation
"Assessor Court" means a court, constituted in accord-
ance with section 4 (3) of this iroclamation, consisting of a resident of the Superior Court assisted by two assessors;
"British Officer Court" means a court, constituted in accordance with section 4 (2) of this Proclamation, consisting of a fresident of the Superior Court sitting with two officers of the British Naval, Military or Air Forces;
"confirming authority" means the officer having the
power of confirming a judgment or sentence;
"Court" means any court established under this
iroclamation;
"Tresident" means a Fresident of the Superior Court established under section 3 of this iroclamation;
"Presiding Officer" means the Presiding Officer of a District Court established under section 3 of this Proclamation.
3. There shall be established in and for the Settlement of Singapore the following military courts:-
(a) the Superior Court sitting as a British Officer
Court or an Assessor Court; and
(b) District Courts.
